Dr. Armand B. Cognetta, Jr.

Armand B. Cognetta Jr., MD, is founder and president of Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee. He started practicing under the Dermatology Associates namesake in June 1985.

He received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut Medical School in 1979, served his residency at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, and served his dermatology residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Cognetta also served his MOHs Fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

Dr. Cognetta is an associate professor of dermatology at the Florida State University School of Medicine. Dr. Cognetta is also a Clinical professor and Chief of the Division of Dermatology for the FSU College of Medicine. He is also a fellowship director at the American College of MOHs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. Dr. Cognetta is widely published and lectures on early detection of melanoma and skin cancer management. He also currently trains one Fellow a year for the American College of MOHs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.

Dr. Cognetta and his staff currently specialize in the early detection and treatment of skin cancer. His practice is limited to treating skin cancer by referral only, so that his patients can be provided with the specialized care that they need. He and his staff work to ensure that his patients receive that best treatment possible.

Dr. Gordon J. Low

Gordon Low, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Florida, and served his internship at Malcolm Grow United States Air Force Center, on Andrews Air Force Base in Washington DC. He served his residency for dermatology at the Brooke US Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Low is board certified with both the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Family Practice.

He and his staff endeavor to treat a wide range of skin diseases, and provide services for both children and adults. Dr. Low and his team collaborate closely with other Dermatology Associates clinicians for the early detection and treatment of skin cancer, to provide their patients with reliable and quality treatment and care.

Dr. Bob P. Soni

Bob Soni, MD received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and served his internship at the University of North Carolina. He also served his residency for dermatology at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wakeforest University.

Dr. Soni is board certified with the American Board of Dermatology. He and his staff work painstakingly at providing their patients with the utmost care and treatment, taking every precaution and making every move necessary to ensure that their patients receive the care that they need. Dr. Soni specializes in the detection and removal of early melanomas and skin cancers, and endeavors to spot these irregularities before they become severe. He also specializes in the treatment and prevention of acne and rosacea.

Dr. Soni provides general dermatology services for adults, and pediatric dermatology services for children and infants, as well.

Dr. Stephen K. Richardson

Dr. Richardson received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College, and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed both a dermatology residency and a fellowship in cutaneous oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. He has received multiple awards for his research pertaining to skin cancer and has been a recipient of the National Research Service Award. Dr. Richardson has presented his work at both national and international medical conferences and has published numerous papers and book chapters relating to skin cancer and psoriasis. Dr. Richardson is board certified and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is a Clinical Asst. Professor at the Florida State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Okanta B. Jackson

Okanta B. Jackson, MD, truly enjoys caring for the people of Tallahassee and neighboring communities. He is a Chicago native and received his Doctorate of Medicine from The Chicago Medical School at Finch University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Jackson completed his Internal Medicine internship at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia with the Morehouse School of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Jackson has completed two post-doctoral fellowships. He was a key contributor to ground breaking dermatology research during his first Post-Doctoral Fellowship as a National Institute of Health (NIH) Fellow hosted by Emory University. He went on to also complete his Dermatology Residency with Emory University, Department of Dermatology in Atlanta, Georgia.

Included among Dr. Jackson’s several presentations and publications is co-authorship of a chapter for the Management of Unusual Skin Tumors in the textbook of Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

Dr. Jackson is a Fellowship trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon. He completed his second Post-Doctoral (Surgical) Fellowship right here in Tallahassee at Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee with Dr. Armand B. Cognetta, director. 

Dr. Jackson and his staff specialize in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and general dermatology, focusing their efforts on the treatment and removal of unusual tumors and skin cancers in critical locations.  His medical/ surgical techniques are highly specialized and Dr. Jackson prides himself on giving very personalized and superior patient care.

Dr. Marc J. Inglese

Marc J. Inglese, MD, a Tallahassee native, attended medical school at the University of Florida where he graduated summa cum laude. He was also elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the highest academic distinction given to a U.S. medical school graduate. Dr. Inglese completed his one year internship in 2003 at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine, and then a full internal medicine residency from 2003 to 2006 at the University of Florida’s Department of Medicine. From 2006 to 2009, Dr. Inglese completed his dermatology residency at the University Of Texas- M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Department Of Dermatology in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Inglese is dual board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Dermatology. In addition to private practice, he is an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the Florida State University College of Medicine. Dr. Inglese also sits on the Board of Governors for the Florida Medical Association. He specializes in dermatological care for adults and children, as well as internal medicine.

Dr. David J. Dolson

Dr. David J. Dolson received his medical degree from the University of Florida. He completed an Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology residency, followed by a combined Cytopathology and Surgical Pathology Fellowship at the University of Florida. During his training he was awarded a fellowship by the American Cancer Society and won the Alfred Lewis Memorial award from the Florida Society of Pathologists. Following this training, he stayed on at the University of Florida as an Assistant Professor of Pathology, where he received several awards, including the medical school-wide Teacher of the Year award (for basic science teaching), as well as Teacher of the Year in the Department of Pathology (awarded by the pathology residents and fellows). Dr. Dolson continued his training at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Fellow in Dermapathology. Prior to joining Dermatology Associates, he was a partner at KWB Pathology Associates, where he was the medical director of the outpatient laboratory for over 12 years. Dr. Dolson, who has authored book chapters and several academic papers relating to pathology, is board certified in Dermapathology, Anatomic and Clinical pathology, and Cytopathology. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Florida State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Meredith McKinney

Meredith McKinney, MD graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in 1965 and Indiana University Medical School in Indianapolis in 1968. Between 1968 and 1974 he completed a four year general surgery residency at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville and spent two years with the Special Forces at Fort Bragg, NC. He then fulfilled a two year plastic surgery residency at Indiana University and specialty hand surgery training at the Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center in Louisville, KY. From July 1976 to October 1999 he provided a full spectrum of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery to patients in the Tallahassee and surrounding communities.

Since that time he has restricted his practice to skin cancer reconstruction. Dr. McKinney works closely and exclusively with Dr. Cognetta at Dermatology Associates to provide our patients with the best possible care.

Dr. W. Harris Green

W. Harris Green, MD, a Tallahassee native, received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, and his medical degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, where he also served his one year internship. He served his residency for dermatology at the Brody School of Medicine of East Carolina University and was co-chief resident his last year. He joined the ECU faculty for a year after completing his residency. Dr. Green has completed his American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery under Dr. Armand B. Cognetta at Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee.

Dr. Green is widely published and has given multiple lectures at national meetings. He is a current member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

Dr. Green specializes in skin cancer management. Dr. Green is fellowship trained in Mohs Micrographic surgery and other modalities of skin cancer treatment. His year of fellowship training beyond his dermatology residency makes him uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat skin cancer.

Dr. George Cohen

Dr. Cohen is board certified in dermatology with over 33 years of experience. Dr. Cohen has worked in private practice for Kaiser-Permanente and spent many years training dermatology residents. He was the Chief of Dermatology at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he trained residents and medical students from Howard University and other medical schools in the DC area. More recently he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of South Florida and as an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Dr. George Cohen , M.D., received his undergraduate training from the University of Michigan and received his medical degree in May 1977 from the Howard University College of Medicine. Dr. Cohen distinguished himself during medical school from his peers by completing the curriculum with the highest academic average in his class. Dr. Cohen completed his internship at DC General Hospital and completed his residency in dermatology at the Howard University Hospital Department of Dermatology.

Dr. Cohen also served as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force. He has authored numerous medical papers and frequently lectures at local, regional and national medical conferences.
